In 2007, Nancy Mellon and Corine Bayraktaroglu, the JafaGirls, yarn bombed a tree to call attention to an art event. The tree was added to in 2008 and named the Knit Knot Tree. Long after the event, others would add knitted sections to the tree, as it became a topic of conversation and local pride. The Knit Knot Tree is one of iconic early works of yarn bombing.

I've been knitting for 13 years and crocheting for 9 years. Making things with my hands is my therapy! I can't get enough free crochet and knit patterns, so I started this site so I can share my obsession with my fellow yarn-lovers.
