We have a big yarn crawl happening this weekend in the Pacific Northwest from the Canadian border, around Puget Sound, to the south Seattle suburbs. A whopping 24 yarn shops are participating in the 8th Annual Northwest LYS Tour.
Since the tour is self-guided, participants may visit as many or as few shops as they like; however, the more shops visited, the bigger and better the prizes.
It works like this. You begin by obtaining a passport at one of the participating shops, then get your passport stamped at each shop along the way. If you earn 8 stamps, you are eligible to win one of two $100 gift certificates; for 16 stamps, you become eligible to win one of three $100 gift certificates & one $250 gift certificate; and for stamps at all 24 shops, you are eligible to win either a $250 gift certificate or a $500 gift certificate.
In addition to the monetary prizes, there will be a daily raffle at each shop, and a pattern give-away with an accompanying 10% yarn discount.
The Northwest LYS Tour lasts four days from May 16 (Thursday) through May 19th (Sunday). All shops will have extended hours: Thursday and Friday, 10:00am to 8:00pm; Saturday and Sunday, 10:00am to 6:00 pm.
Mike (my husband and mapmaker extraordinaire) has made a terrific interactive Northwest LYS Tour Map, which I think you will find very useful. You can also refer to the tour website for more information.
